Dr Stephanie Pietralla
OPTOMETRIST
Dr. Pietralla obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta in 1990. This was followed by a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 1994. Dr. Pietralla did a clinical rotation in Denver, Colorado at Omni Eye Specialists. During this time she was able to attend a few games of the inaugural season of the Colorado Rockies!
You’ll frequently see her running the mountain trails around Terrace, and she is a yoga and travel enthusiast. Recent adventures include a trek of the Inca Trail in Peru, and a rim-to-rim-to-rim (R3) hike of the Grand Canyon. Ecuador and the Appalachians beckon…
She is a member of the Ocular Wellness and Nutrition Society, Optometric Extension Program Foundation, British Columbia Doctors of Optometry and the Canadian Association of Optometrists.
She is focussed on ensuring that the patients of Fusion Eyecare receive the highest standard of vision care possible.
Dr Sarah Robin
OPTOMETRIST
Dr. Sarah Robin was raised in Prince Rupert and is excited to return to Northwestern BC to join the Fusion Eyecare team. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Northern BC while playing varsity basketball with the Timberwolves. She then attended the University of Waterloo School of Optometry, graduating with honours in June 2019. During her schooling, she had the opportunity to do a clinical externship with the Cherokee Nation Health Clinic in Oklahoma, where she treated and managed ocular diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration.
Dr. Robin is passionate about all aspects of optometry and is thrilled that she is starting her career in beautiful Terrace. She has a keen interest in diagnosing and managing ocular disease as well as helping those with low vision. She is a member of both the BC Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists.
In her spare time, Dr. Robin enjoys hiking, skiing, biking, playing sports and spending time with her partner, friends and family.
Dr Katherine Pratt
OPTOMETRIST
Dr. Pratt received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1990 from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. She originally moved to Terrace from Halifax in 1993 to practice with Dr. Paul Clark for two years; then, in 2013 she and her family moved back to Terrace, enjoying the beauty of the north.
She has extensive experience in family eye care, including pediatric eye examinations, contact lens fitting, and eye surgery co-management. Her interests are in eye disease and visual development.
Dr. Pratt has volunteered for eye care projects in Mexico and Grenada, providing free eye examinations and eyewear to thousands of less fortunate adults and children.
Dr. Pratt has been a council member with the British Columbia Association of Optometrists, as well as serving on the Board of Examiners in Optometry as co-chair of the Quality Assurance (QA) Committee. She is presently a member of the British Columbia Doctors of Optometry and the Canadian Optometric Association.
In her spare time Dr. Pratt is a mother, hiker, skier, hockey player, and certified yoga instructor.
Dr Rebecca Counts

Dr. Rebecca Counts, Ph.D., O.D., graduated from the University of Waterloo Optometry School 1997 with top honours and awards. She moved with her family to Terrace, and after working as an associate doctor, purchased Dr. Paul Clark’s optometry practice in 2003. She has been active in her profession, serving as regional councilor for the BC Association of Optometrists and also as a member of the Board of the College of Optometrists of BC, which is the professional regulatory body. In recognition of her contributions to the profession, she was named Optometrist of the Year by her BC peers in 2005. In addition, she has worked on question-writing and review panels for the Canadian Standard Assessors in Optometry, which sets the National board examinations for all doctors wishing to practice in Canada, and has participated as a volunteer doctor on Third World Eyecare Society missions to Bolivia and the Philippines, providing free eye examinations and donated eyeglasses to some of the poorest people in the world.
Rebecca and husband Tim have enjoyed raising their 2 children in Terrace, and have been very active in the community, particularly in the arts. Rebecca has been involved in many community organizations, including the Northwest Singers, Pacific Mist Chorus of Sweet Adelines International, Theatre Alive, Terrace Little Theatre, Parents’ Advisory Councils, Kindergarten Round-Up, the Library Board, and the Rotary Club. She loves the small-town lifestyle, and all the outdoor activities this area has to offer. She welcomes new patients of all ages to her practice.
